Patrinox 2020

It’s bleak at times, but it is Equal Day and Equal Night. Where ever you are stay safe. If you can’t get out, take a walk through Dungarvan at 4.30 in the morning for a silent St. Patrix Day parade.

Dungarvan seems to shine in the golden light of silence. The birdsong is real. The backing track is canned music. I’m no video or sound editor, but it just seemed right to release these images on the day they were taken.

Try headphones if you like.

Surrounded by Heritage

I pass this little plaque on our local village hall daily. I really like it. It reminds me of one of the great things about Ireland’s heritage. It’s community, and it’s knowledgeable connection with a beautiful land.

We live in a landscape surrounded by Ogham stones, dolmens, ruined old churches. Constant reminders of a truly ancient heritage of people connected to the land. The spark of that connection is still here, and when kindled could offer great things.
